bigdavie Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 whats the best bet ?? factor dealer or do you get performance ones ?? lol check me gettin all performance minded !! im even on a diet to save weight lmao !!
M555RAE Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 eny-meny-miny-mo performance filters is the way to go.
wilky Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 There is a mixed train of thought on this one depending on the power your running and the fuel demands you have. Some like the standard filter as it acts like a mini swirl pot, ie hold a reserve if you get fuel surge, some discount this as irrelevant and ineffective. Personally i run an inline filter in the same position as the standard one. You can pay a fortune for a knackerdooky fandango racing one, I use a seat cupra r one which flows exactly the same as a racing one you can buy from one of those places that sell that stuff If your running over 550bhp, then you really need something a bit special I dont think either you nor I need to worry about that though. bigdavie Posted April 22, 2006 Author Posted April 22, 2006 lol i wish callum !! thanx for advice !! NOW can i be even cheekier and ask how you have done this ?? ie made the cupra filter work !?? as i thought the in line ones only had two ports one in and one out and if im not mistaken there are three pipes on the scoob one am i wrong ??? cheers mate !
wilky Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 One hole in, one hole out. Im quite sure we could come up with a rude conclusion but its quite easy. Fit it to the strut with a plastic tie.
bigdavie Posted April 22, 2006 Author Posted April 22, 2006 hmm sweet !! can anyone point me in the direction of the fuel filter pref on a classic ideally with pics !!
wilky Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 My car is a classic. its a dawdle, and on the cupra r filter theres a big arrow showing you the right way. Pop down and see the Greers they will show you Callum
wilky Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 On the passanger side strut tower, it looks like a pot with a bent in and out pipes. the clip is a catch type scenario.
bigdavie Posted April 22, 2006 Author Posted April 22, 2006 AAAAAHHHHHHHHAAAAAAA excuse me if i've been dim tonight callum i'm on some painkillers !! lmto !! i fell up a set of stairs backwards yesterday and then had a massive set of chest of drawers land on top of that particular mess !! ie im out my nut on codeine (sp) !!!! i now fully understand where you are coming from and will be in to rowan st on monday !!! btw is it a n/a cupra or turbo cupra filter you got ?? !!
wilky Posted April 22, 2006 Posted April 22, 2006 Think they are both the same but turbo was what ws asked for.
