just had the belt done on the car tonight, and amazingly the original belt, as fitted by subaru in the factory, was 2 teeth out on one of the cams, we couldnt believe it. i thought that would have minced the engine, but its been running sweet.

very strange

oh and it was the driver side lower cam that was out, the other 3 were fine

naa i never did it, i stood back and mainly said, that looks a cAnt of a job[;)]

no locking tools needed and was pretty straight forward, all the timing marks are very clear and the subaru belt comes all marked too

i know, if i had my camera i would have taken pics of it, the car was running great too, very strange

we marked where the belt came off just in case too, but lined it up with the original marks and turned it over by hand, al ok, and fired up, ran nicely

You can jump teeth with a sticky starter or a bodged start!!!

Hard to believe but very true.
