Servicing question

Hi again

Does everyone (with cars in warranty) use the Subaru dealer in Ramsey for servicing? Are they ok?

Hi nick, ive used them once to try them out.Got 2 anti roll bushes fitted, they charged me £56, £40 of that was for half an hour labour. So you can do your own sums on the hourly rate. I dont think many, if any go there for servicing. The mechanic there was sent on a course with subaru to learn how to fix them etc before it opened as a subaru dealership last year.

Most people use Paul @ south coast performance, But as Graham says, Barry Curran Motors very inexperienced and i personnaly still use Holdcroft Subaru at Widnes, 20 Minutes off the boat in Liverpool, and can always fit in with a bit of shopping.

At least then you know it's gonna be done properley, as for Ramsey they do not want to know us at all (SIDC that is) Very Dissapointed in them

Thanks for the feedback about the dealer guys. Knowing dealerships in general, I expect that sending the mechanics on a course was some sort of requirement from IM. £80 an  hour for a big time dealer [;)] isn't too bad, cost is not a huge issue - I just want the work done properly & to a high standard by people I can trust. I'll definately take on board the Widnes suggestion though. My car needs an oil & filter (power service) every 5k miles. Would you suggest a ferry trip for that service too

Every 5k[^o)] What ya driving then?

I would be fine just oil & filter change with Paul at SCP, But i never seem to keep them long enough to want an Annual service[:$][;)]

I have a WR1 with 5k service intervals.

The 5k power service oil & filter thing needs to be done at a dealer otherwise my warranty is zapped.

Both of our cars are Type UK's and both are serviced in the dealer they came from in Cardiff. It's not a slur on the local based dealer, it's just that we can typically co-incide the service with a trip back through the twisties[tm] [;)] We've become good friends with the dealer in Cardiff, and their after sales support and servicing are beyond question.

A WR1 is one of the most highly tuned UK spec cars out there, running on mostly standard UK Spec STi internals. It's not a version I'd be willing to let a trainee cut their teeth on.
