2559B Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 The HGK PFR7B's are what you want . The PFR6B's are for use in standard / lightly modded cars .......... 7B's I use ..... as far as tips for fitting go , can't help you !!! I let my wallet worry about that.![:$] Filters are a tricky subject ....... bit like " which oil ? " or " best tyres " ..... everyone has their own view's and opinions ...... with yours being a my99 .... just be careful with the MAF sensor ... steer clear of oiled filters & induction kits , the MAF's don't like them. Do a search in the Technical forum & read the reviews of different products. Good Luck, Ally.

frank c Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 Green cotton panel filter for me but was told i could use a standard filter and just replace it more often. Frank.
johnnyr6 Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 The sti panel filter seems to be the best one. Think they are about £45.
bigdavie Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 Green cotton panel filter for me but was told i could use a standard filter and just replace it more often. Frank. cool its just that i started servicing the scoob after i bought the parts and when i opened the air box out popped a newish green cotton filter but i always thought it would adversely affect the maf hot wire as they are oiled ?? arent they ?? so anyway i put the paper filter in just to see if there was any difference ??!! and i dont think there is ! sooooooo anyone want a slightly used green cotton filter ??!!

frank c Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 A green cotton filter will be perfectly OK for the MAF.....[]
