The offside rule explained for girls

You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have. The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire. Both of you have forgotten your purses.

It would be totally rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes. The shop assistant remains at the till waiting.

Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. She prepares to throw her purse to you. If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes. At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and, whilst it is in flight* you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes.

However until the purse had *actually been thrown* you are not allowed to move in front of the other shopper - (otherwise you would be 'Offside')...

let me see if I've got this right.......

the shoes are the goal

the purse is the ball

and the other shopper is the remaining defender that stands between you and the goal.....

and you can't make your move until the purse has been thrown/ball has been kicked

BTW...... nowadays, shoes behind the till indicate that they are being

bought and are kept until you have reached the till and paid for them.

V good analogy tho'..... from a girl that knows about the offside rule!  [:(]

There's no piont in explaining the offside rule, i'd just explain poofball is pants its full of t0ssers who play act and dive and how in the good old days they'd just get on with the game and not play act!!!!. i'd then explain the finer points of oversteer and the various forms of motorsport which are all far better sport the the sh1te called football.

I'm afraid I don't like watching men running around in shorts either no matter what shaped ball they are chasing![:)][:D]
