chris_c201 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Ignoring the obvious issue of the EGT boss...... Is it worth fitting a well wrapped up-pipe from a classic in place of the cat'ed up-pipe in a bugeye WRX.... obviously other work will be getting done at the same time and i'm gonna change the up-pipe anyway, got offered this one for the cost of the postage and just wondering if i should stop being a cheap skate and just hold off for a flexi one.... Anyone?
fai17 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Aye it'll fit.Btw Greersport has one in stock too[]
chris_c201 Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 How much from Greersport Peter?? Is it a flexi one?
fai17 Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Don't think it's a flexy one as standard aren't flexy. About £50 and they can fit it too.
chris_c201 Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 Is it a OE one then, from a newage? Waiting for a wee while before fitting cos i'm going for the downpipe and ported headers at the same time, prolly get Wuz to do it.... Hmmm....
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 It's worth doing if you a decat downpipe or get a high flow catted downpipe & a remap = should give you 270-280bhp CGS
WUZ Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 If you remove the heatshielding from the OE Classic/STi Uppipe you'll find that it is flexible. Russell

Cheers Chris OH YES! - you could just leave the OE heat shielding on instead (no need to pay for wrapping something that is already covered. Your money, your choice). Russell
scott_coull Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Got one off a MY99 for sale if interested, covered 60k miles, good condition. £40 plus postage? Cheers Coulster
chris_c201 Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 Wuz - If there's no point in removing the heatshield then i'll not do it, less i have to spend the better, lol Coulster - Already got one lined up but cheers anyway, Chris
