RS Grant Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 That looks sooooooooooo clean, that Halfrauds stuff is good, used it before. To be honest, from the close up pic, I want that impressed with the cone........ but then the pic of the whole bay shows exactly how big it is!! Well impressed mate, top bit of kit!! [H] Cheers, Grant
alistair_learmonth Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 a wee techy Q I always thought it best to get your air cold, rammed and sealed for best results, would the cone not be prone to lift hot air from the engine bay as well as it dont fit direct to the intake at the fog light. Or am I missing something will the heat shield enclose the cone to the bonnet.

The heat shield should keep the engine heat away from the filter. But once your car is moving i think there is plenty of cold air rushing through your engine bay which is why RCM reccomend the big the BIG filter. With the inner winger mounted filter you are limited to the size of the filter that fits in the wing.So BIG filters will need to stay in the engine bay.
