herbie Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Hi folks, What would you think the approximate bhp would be for this set up: I run a UK MY00, with Tek 2 ecu (mapped to 1.2 bar), full exhaust and decat, hks panel airfilter. my figs on the r/r were 256 bhp, 245 lb/ft which i was a little dissapointed with. I was expecting 280 bhp. Would you guys recommend a re-map or are that figures about right for a UK turbo? Regards, Herbie
2559B Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I have an RB5 with similar mods to yourself. mine has 263 BHP & 261 lb/ft .
scott_coull Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Dont think the tek 2 is mapped to 1.2 bar, think its around 1 bar. Mines also has same mods and puts out 280 bhp and 273 torque Cheers Coulster

scott_coull Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 did the guy who rolling roaded it tell you boost figures?
herbie Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 Come to think of it - No. Possible that full boost was not reached on the r/r?
scott_coull Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 could be, although prob sounds about right. Obviously each car is slightly different as will exhausts, filter etc. My old set up of Tek 2.5 by John Banks, H&S downpipe, 2.5" decat and K&N produced 267bhp and 252 torque. My current set up of Tek 2, H&S downpipe and 3" blitz exhaust STi panel filter gave me 280bhp and 273 torque. I imagine you car feels really good on the road as you were expecting 280bhp so don't be too dissapointed, put your car up against simillar spec cars and my bet is there won't be much in it, if any! Cheers Coulster
2559B Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 remember sitting behind coulster on the mad march run. I was in my red WRX & trying ( in vain ) to keep up with coulster & the RB5 infront of him. That was the first time i'd seen a RB5 & I wanted one !!! You're car is a speedy wee beastie !!! P.S. -- Herbie , As Coulster says, you'll probably find it's just as quick as other re-mapped models. Plus the classic is lighter !!! LOL
scott_coull Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Cheers mate, I remember that day well, was a superb day out with some interesting roads, think its the hardest id pushed my car since I bought it. Seen your car up at the AWD open day and its looking sweet mate. Just dont go too over the top with the bodystyling Im going for next stage of tune, hoping to get a sniff at Jc Scoob on the quarter mile next year Oh and a bit of practice on my launching aswell Should be interesting..... Cheers Coulster
2559B Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 have the car looking pretty much the way I want it now have a picture of you & RB5 somewhere ........... will look it out.
scott_coull Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Cheers mate, would appreciate that photo. Peter I ran a dissapointing 14 sec run the last time i was there, hence the hunt for more power! Cheers Coulster
