Cecil Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Can anyone suggest a garage/person who can look at my flamer kit as it still ain't working!!! Went to the Tunnel run yesterday (which was brilliant by the way!!!) and loads of imprezas flaming but not mine. A few people there suggested changing the plug which i did today but still no flames PLEEEAAASEEE HELP.
baser999 Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 I used to know a guy called Paul Sparks who ran a garage in Swanscombe - he used to run a Lotus so he may know a bit more than your average greasy monkey - sorry but since I moved out the area I've lost his number. Can't even remember the garage name although if its any help, if you come off the main drag you come up the high street , past the station and the road then bears right and his place was about 100yds up on the right hand side. When I lived in Gravesend I'd just pop in and book the old motor in so never really needed to know name/telephone etc. Sorry.
baser999 Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Should have said that I never had the scooby then - had a Scorpio
granby Posted October 31, 2005 Posted October 31, 2005 Have you got a full decat, that's a total of 3 cats, uppipe - downpipe & centre section
Cecil Posted October 31, 2005 Author Posted October 31, 2005 I still have the one in the up pipe but was told that this was ok!!!
granby Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 << I still have the one in the up pipe but was told that this was ok!!! >> I was told by the bloke who fitted my flamer kit that you have to get rid of all the cats for it to work, so i think that's why your not getting any flames
Montythegod Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 I have fitted 4 flamer kits now... and none of them worked until all the cats were removed... And even then mine didnt work standing still untill I had a remap and new ecu (got some great ones driving around though !) The cat burns up excess fuel and none of it gets a chance to hit the spark plug..
