j-k Posted December 12, 2005 Author Posted December 12, 2005 Deano...can you please give me a call...need some info and maybe some help with the rally car... cheers jon
mark_sheepwash Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Ah man! Gutted for you both 2nd to last stage unlucky but no doubt it was a great experience better luck next time lads
j-k Posted December 12, 2005 Author Posted December 12, 2005 Had a look at the results page and we reckon we would have finished 6th in class behind 4 WRC cars(2 scoobs , 1 hyundai, and 1 escort) and 2 6r4 metros...making us the best of the rest.. Arron is making enquiries as to the problem with the car , but worse case it could be a head gasket problem...which means an engine out job!! watch this space... jon
granby Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Could of been 6th in class (not trying hard enough ) Seriously though thats really bad luck and i'm sorry to hear it might be a engine out job By the way when is the next event Ian ps...do you know where Ian Godney came

Next event SHOULD be Oakington in Cambridge in February....If the problem with the car is not too costly We need to fix the engine, (unsure of cost at the moment), buy some new tyres (again) fit new brake pads (or hopefully some upgraded calipers/discs) and give the car a general good going over... Any volunteers??(ones with cash at the ready would be greatly appreciated!!) jon
The Guru Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 A big thanks to all the ESC that came out in the cold to support Jon and I at Rockingham, we do appreciate it. We were in 22nd position overall out of 102 starters going into the 9th stage and then had a coolant problem so Jon and I decided to take a stage maximum and retire from the event. If we had not have had the coolant issue and all went well we could have finished in about 17th or so overall, and maybe 6th in class. If you consider that all the cars in our class were ALL WRC cars or 6R4 METRO's then we would have been ?????????? the best of the rest, and the highest placed scoob!!!!!!!!!! Jon was gr8 even if he was belching burger breath through the intercom. Again a big thanks to all that helped and hopefully next time we will have some Kent Scoobies members as well. Also a MASSIVE thanks to Beverley and the guys at LEDA SUSPENSION, a truely FANTASTIC bit of kit. POWER ENGINEERING SCOOBY TEK POWERFLEX CG MOTORSPORT THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!! Thanks. Arron.
j-k Posted December 12, 2005 Author Posted December 12, 2005 That burger was repeating on me all bloomin day..... How did it go?? 90left into...burp...open hairpin right...burp.. I think the massive four wheel slide that was almost a spin at about 80mph, followed by lock to lock on the steering trying to get it back, may have had an influence on the burger trying to make a re appearance!!! Quality bit of driving to get it back tho... There were a few other highlights, but i will save the stories for Friday... jon
