B3AR Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 If you've read my post in the technical section, you will know I have problems with the car. I want to get a full alignment done to eliminate that as a possibility to my car pulling left. What's the best place around these parts to get it done, and does anyone have any prices? I know of Elite in Essex which people always use, but was wondering if there was anything closer to home. Marc.
granby Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 << use elite m8, 10 mins through tunnel >> Agree with that, but if you can wait a few weeks Tiny is sorting out another open day with Elite and they will have some very good prices for alignment, tyres, suspension etc
imprezyou Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 Wel i am in ...if you want it done quicker mate maybe we can trott over together? mine needs doing.
Deano 666 Posted October 7, 2005 Posted October 7, 2005 marc, have you read my post on ellite? thay are very professional.
B3AR Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 I can't remember if I've seen it or not....If Tiny is deffo going in a couple of weeks then I'll wait till then, at least I'll get a discount, but on the other hand I'm not driving the car at the moment cos it's just handles like crap.
B3AR Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 Right, had a look on the ESC forum and they're planning a visit for teh 20th November. I can't wit that long to have it sorted, so I'm going to book me in for another day. They're open on saturdays, so will look to book it in next weekend or the following one.
mark_sheepwash Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Been speaking to Barry at Elite and said about the Group thing in November and I said couldnt wait that long. As I might get some springs etc fitted as well he said he would see what he could do discount wise as im member of sidc anyway
B3AR Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 Well maybe we could sort out a mini day out at Elite, seeing as me, you and imprezyou want to go. I really want it done before the tunnel run at the end of the month.

B3AR Posted October 8, 2005 Author Posted October 8, 2005 Well, I was in the car today and it was pissing me off so much I just wnet up there and had it done, and it was miles out. So they adjusted it all, and guess what, still pulls.
mark_sheepwash Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 Going up to elite on Saturday morning to have new tyres fitted and full alignment done and sorted. Not getting the new wheels at the mo as the new ones I wanted (BK 299 racing in new BLACK) they dont do in 5 stud fittment yet!!! Can't decide what other ones to get and plus the fact after my service today been told need new pads and discs all round soon (!!!) Need to spend a bit there so gonna hang on for a while So Paul if you want to come up with me Saturday morning they can fit you in as I asked them. I want to get there for 8am so pm me or ring me/text on 07980 904963 if you want to arrange to meet up on the way (see from your profile your in gravesend) I will be coming up from medway cheers

Montythegod Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 << Well, I was in the car today and it was pissing me off so much I just wnet up there and had it done, and it was miles out. So they adjusted it all, and guess what, still pulls. >> Have you tried new wheels and tyres... I had a dangerous problem with my Cosworth, floored it and it would change lanes.. (dont say anything Deano !) whole car was aligned up (at elite) and all bushes replaced, and tyre pressures ok ( I still got the rear beam I bought as a spare because that was suspected as being bent) then I bought a new set of wheels and tyres... and the problem disappeared...
B3AR Posted October 12, 2005 Author Posted October 12, 2005 Well that's what I may be trying next. I noticed the discs and pads need changing on the front, so I'm going to do the lot, which will hopefully show up any binding. But in the meantime, if someone has a spare set of wheels and tyres sitting around which I could borrow for a couple of days please let me know
imprezyou Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Got a set of 16" impreza wheels in me shed that you are welcome to use
mark_sheepwash Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Big up to Elite especially Barry for sorting me out - Car is so much better with some tread and brakes and prodrive alignment Fully recommend them
imprezyou Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Mines the dogs aswel sheepie, them prodrive settings and new tyres have done the trick. Sticks to corners like glue, more fun faster corners . Thanx matey for takeing me up there. C ya at the meet next week.
B3AR Posted October 16, 2005 Author Posted October 16, 2005 Right.....after getting up really early I was turning the car around and because it was so quiet, I could hear a tyre rubbing noise coming from the nsf wheel and sure enough the tyre has a bulge in it. I looked at the tyres when I rotated them, but it is so subtle yet it covers almost 1/4 of the tyre's circumference!! Am I going to need four new tyres, or shall I just get two? There's still quite a lot of tread left on them, say 6-7mm at least.
granby Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 Just go for 2 tyres, as long as you have the sames tyres on each axle (front or rear) there should be no problem
