Ken 275 Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 With a difference. I nearly kacked myself today while fishing Loch Ba, just off the A82 at Glencoe, but the loch goes on for a large number of miles and the terrain is not ideal for fast transit on foot, esp when fully laden. Anyway, with about a mile to go back to the car - which I couldn't see because of the hillock obscuring the lay-by where the car was parked- I heard a Scooby Sport exhaust firing up and then saw through a gap in the terrain a blue Impreza with gold wheels horsing off Southwards - panicked! Lots of thoughts going through my head. I'll try to be concise. I reckon I did that that mile in ten minutes, my distance reckoning might be out but my watch isn't, and to my relief the car was still there. It's possible that someone with a car of the same nature stopped for a look to compare. My point being twofold : it shook my ar*e and is there anyone else on here who has similar car who was up that way today? K.
2559B Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 hi mate, was in glencoe today, seen 3 scoobs ( a red wagon - non turbo / dark blue classic / WR blue bugeye ) was also on the A9 to Inverness, then down to Fort Willam ............ that A82 road from Inverness to Fort William is amazing !!!! a total of 446 miles today with 2 tanks of opti-juice & a slash 'n dash for good measure.
Ken 275 Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 Thanks for replying, that's a fair drive and will have cost you many pennies. Believe it or not I didn't see a single Scoob when I was going N/W today. I did see one on the return journey, but I couldn't get the plate, an oldie in black (pre-face-lift, no scoop). Well kept car. Also a nice Spec C I think at Inveruglas, but that was all. Good roads past Bridge of Orchy but watch your dials! Safe today, but who knows, best be careful! K.
Don Mega Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I done an all nighter on friday and drove from glenrothes in fife up the A9 then onto the A82 to fort william at half 3 in the morning for erm... lets say something to do I thought that the mountain bike world cup was on last weekend ya see, turns out its next weekend! anyhoo ended up driving back down the glencoe way and it was superb! The whole journey was ace because it was bone dry and the roads were completely dead at that time, apart from the odd rabit and deer! 250 miles in total, i certainly managed to sleep when I finally got back home. Great Friday night D.
