JamesF Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Just had my car back from Nobles today as it was in to have the front end looked at. Had a knock and a rattle coming from both front wheel areas. Turns out that it all comes down to the Eibach springs I have fitted. Because they are shorter than standard springs (obviously) they can be easily moved from side to side when the car is jacked up (they can actually be turned in a full circle!). Also, because the front springs don't have any rubber bushings etc to secure them they are rattling against the metal spring seats. Only cure is prodrive or standard springs although Nobles have tried to place some rubber under the spring seats to see if that helps. Big up to Nobles for their service today, I know a few of you have had troubles but they are always more than courteous with me. James.
IanJ Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 I'd get onto eibach if i was you. They should be able to sort you out.
ozzy Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 The Prodrive springs used to be made by Eibach, so it's worth finding out exactly what the differences are. Someone like Mike Wood from Prodrive would help I'm sure. Stefan
Gumball Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 get your money back and get tein springs fitted instead.
TheGza Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Interesting news James - have you noticed any difference with the rubber bits Nobles added?
JamesF Posted August 27, 2005 Author Posted August 27, 2005 Alright Chris, I noticed a little difference but they eventually fell out. Think I'll get onto Eibach and see what the deal is.
