Help.. Car wont start!

Three times this week the Scooby hasn't started straight away...

first time was after a short 5 minute drive, car was left for 15mins, came back and it wouldn't start! Eventually after about 15 or 20mins it started.

Second time car had been sitting at my work for a few hours after driving for half an hr. Jumped in and it wouldn?t start. This time though it took 45mins to start and I think it had flooded for some reason? cant think why..

Third time was tonight, again the car had been sitting at work for an hr or 2, came out and as before it turned over but wouldn?t start. This time I done the whole foot to the floor thing but it didn?t work, so I had to leave the car at work (going back soon to try it again).

So does anyone have any ideas or has anyone had the same problem? It has an alarm/immobiliser but it shouldn?t turn over if it?s activated. I?m thinking it?s more fuelling than electrical. Could it be the cam sensor or crank sensor?

Any help / ideas much appreciated!

Cheers

why dont you see if the ecu has a fault to see if it is any sensor relating to the cars engine? Have u reset the ecu since you got the car?

It sounds like its more fuelling than electrical.

Ok.. Went back to my work at 10pm (about 3 - 4 hrs after the last time i'd tried) and guess what.. it started straight away without a second thought. Someone on scoobynet said they had the same problem and it was the engine temp sensor...

To reset the ECU is it simply a case of disconnecting the battery?

Anyone else got any ideas? Think this afternoon am gonna try resetting the ecu and cleaning the maf..

After getting the car checked out... It's turned out to be the Cam Shaft Sensor... which is gonna cost 100 quid +VAT. Atleast i know what the problem is now though and the part should be here and on by Wednesday, so scooby will be happy again face-icon-small-happy.gif

Cheers for ya help face-icon-small-happy.gif
