Hi guys,

Was rolling at 5mph and pulled out in front of a van....will do a fuller post when I'm back in my house.

Car ain't too bad and it drives okay. Cops were called as I refused to admit liability ( wise thing to do)

It drives okay and steers true so just superficial damage....

If it wasn't for my new burble I would have been more gutted

I was talking to you just before you left AWD. I left a few minutes later and saw your car at the side of the roundabout. You freind indicated that you were OK and I didn't think you wanted an audience at theat particular moment.

Cal, sorry to hear about your car but you're alright and that's what counts. Enjoyed the day out and the banter and I managed to educate my lad in what automotive cool really is. He no longer thinks BMWs are cool (hang on while I wash my mouth out with soap).

Anyway, top day and top folk at AWD.

Right i'm back in HQ.......

Incident as follows :- Left industrial estate and was approaching the first main roundabout you come to at the exit of the industrial estate.

At this point my brother had the map out and he was deciding what exit to take ( we were therefore rolling at about 5 mph). He then announced " straight on". I was panning across the roundabout and pulled out slowly. My brother than shouted "CAL...!!" At this point a diurty great transit van appeared from nowhere. I hit the stoppers and he did too.....He then skidded into me whilst i was stationary.....

Summary :- rear drivers side door is bashed as is my door ( minor damage) Front wing is marked but not bent. Alloys are completely unmarked and the rear quarted panel is only marked on a tiny part of the edge of the arch nearest the door( phew !!) It should be easily fixed .

Dunno how i never spotted the van but it was white against a low sun and with him being a Pronto Dispatch driver i suspect he was bombing along. I refused to admit liability so he called the cops ( fine by me). They came and took details which makes claims easier.

I'm with Privelege ( Direct line) who are pretty good at reparing cars and dealing with claimes efficiently. Have 6 yrs protected no claims so no qualms there.

So, I'm a tad gutted and really hope they can sort my car before SIDC day @Knockhill . The cars drive train, chassis, supension , wheels etc are all 100% so I really want to get on track ( who is no.1 on the reserves list ! cos they might get my spot)

Twas good to meet the new faces given that I'm a relative nooobie
