Livi Rd Speed Trap

Just passed a speed trap on Livi Rd (main dual carraigeway) on the way into work. Camera van parked in the new layby approaching jct 3a of the M8 (ie heading towards BP garage).

My heart was in my mouth there but I went from Lizzie Brice to the almondvale centre turn-off at lunchtime with the loud pedal pushed into the carpet....... I didn't go past him

Thanks .... if heading into Edinburgh I have been known to go this way, occasionaly in haste !!

I've been told that these speed camera vans are operated by members of the public and not police officers.

And therefore can only operate between the hours of 8am and 4pm.

Does this add up to the times you've seen them or is this info on times wrong.

I was heading back down there around 4 o'clock and they'd gone already.

I got stuck behind some old git in a Volvo and glad I did. Felt really smug passing them at 45.

They have speed trap signs up about 1/2 mile from the Lizzie Brice, but you don't expect the actual camera to be at the other end of the road. Very sneaky.

I've also spotted Traffic in Breich clocking cars along that very fast stretch out of West Calder on the A71.
