johnnyr6 Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 HI derek, is your alloy crankshaft pulley smaller than the original? My pulley is smaller but the same thickness so i guess it's fine, i take it the belts are shorter (can't compare as my original belt is lost) Not bothered, just curious. Cheers Johnny
CAZ1562 Posted July 19, 2004 Posted July 19, 2004 Hi Johnny, Yes my crank pully is a lot smaller than the original. The belts that came in the kit were adjusted to suit the difference in size. Did you get the GFB kit from GGR ?
johnnyr6 Posted July 20, 2004 Author Posted July 20, 2004 I did, look nice although i'm not too sure about go fast bits written across them, looks a bit boy racerish. I couldn't get the crank pulley off to change the knackered woodruff key so i gave it to ava who are now cursing me as it turned out to be a nightmare to do. Anyway should get the car back tomorrow (tuesday). Out of interest why did you change your pulleys? Did you have a knackered pulley?
CAZ1562 Posted July 20, 2004 Posted July 20, 2004 I changed the crank pulley cause somebody chipped the OEM pulley trying to remove it before the timing belt got changed (3 yrs ago). The other reason was the weight saving to counter balance the flywheel.
johnnyr6 Posted July 21, 2004 Author Posted July 21, 2004 Well my cars ready for me to pick up tomorrow.. All in it's cost me £715 to repair after a silly bolt came loose and wrecked my crankshaft pulley. These cars are bloody expensive!
