Urgent Bonnet Question

Went to put water in the windscreen scooshers and the bonnet wont lock ! it looks as if the spring has snapped , does anybody know how to shut the bonnet so it locks ? surly there must be away because i cant leave the car at night with the bonnet open .

sorry never replyed back mate , been running about trying to get this sorted, my wee pal works in a garage and said the lock is knackered, whats the luck in that all the things to go wrong with the car and its that ! had to tie it with rope to keep it shut , need to get a new one and dont know how much its going to cost, any ideas ?

Best bet is to try ebay first, i think that they are all very similar on newage and classic
