soundie Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I need to get a scrape fixed down the side of my wheel arch, and at the same time I want to treat a few bits of rust here and there (from water coming in the boot, and wherever else it can be found) and get the paintwork freshened up a bit. What options do I have? A full respray would be nice, but prohibitively expensive probably. I'm thinking more just getting the front and rear bumpers resprayed and spot treating the rest. Would a painter give me a flat rate quote and sort everything he can find, or want paying by the hour and millilitre of paint. Thanks, Chris.
dougieboy Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 It depends on the painter how he wants to charge you smaller garages are cheaper than the dealers ,what colour is your car there is paint colours like silver or red that are harder to match with the rest of your panels your scratch on your arch might need blended in with your rear door bumper. I had a car painted for me and it was silver and had the arch repaired and a scratch on the rear door and i he had to blend in the front door rear bumper.

Thanks dougie, My car is grey like an RB5, I think 85 something rings a bell paint-code wise. Yeah the scratch goes over some of the rear door too, so that will need done - blended, if not, the whole thing. Any good painters out there?
