Kosy Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) Evening chaps, After being tucked away since the first snowfall at the start of December I finally took the P1 out for a run today. Whilst it was laid up I fitted: Ctek trickle charger nice new AF Noble number plates new OE black stars grill badge - much better! new boot liner clips numbered carbon plaque Took the car 150 miles on the in-direct road to St Andrews with the lady formerly my girlfriend and now my wife. What a great feeling to be out in the car again. Roads were not too bad with only a few sections that were covered with grit residue and pot holes. Got caught out and ended up on a bad b road which had a huge amount of standing water and had to go through a water splash that McRae would have loved! The better half seemed to get some perverse enjoyment out of watching me grimace when I saw what was coming and then decide to not turn back and go through it lol Oh well i'll just have to get up early tomorrow and give it a clean. On my travels I saw a nice blue hatch in Glenrothes and an equally tidy black blobeye sti in Dundee. Waiting on my February pay day where it will be fitting: Ninja 100 cell d/p and 2"5 H&S centre and rear Cotton green filter, 3 port bcs, Walbro 255 pump and new MAF Full service at SW Motorsport and finally...... Andy F ecutek map. It's taken me 10 months but im getting there! I will end this ramble by posting the obligatory only pic that got taken, apologies for the dirt! Edited January 16, 2011 by Kosy
mystery machine Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 (edited) I might have made the same comment before, but what an absolutely fantastic-looking Scoob - one of the nicest I've ever seen... Pity they don't make 'em looking like that any more I had a couple of great runs at New Year - roads were almost totally dry and refreshingly bereft of traffic - great fun Out again this morn, but for some reason there seemed to be more grit and rubble than a couple of weeks ago, and more Sunday drivers too Never mind, gave the Scoob its first hand wash of 2011 this afternoon and that cheered us up Which roads in Fife would you recommend mate? I gave up on the place a while back - got sick of driving on bad surfaces and speed bumps in every village in one large chunk of the Kingdom (WTF is that all about?!). Kosy Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 Cheers mate. I like the A91 to St Andrews and then the coastal route to Crail and Anstruther. Just explore about there, the roads are fantastic. I'm sure some others will be able to remember the specific road names.
mk1cos Posted January 16, 2011 Posted January 16, 2011 car looks stunning even when dirty a hope you were driving sensibly see you when it goes for its service barry
rig-pig Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 nice m8 car looking good m8, was the pic taken down the west sands in st Andrews (down by the beach/golf course) good roads down there i stayed in Anstruther from birth till 25
Kosy Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 Yes that's where the pic was taken. Was a really nice day but some wind down there! Barry- of course! See you and Steve next month
wrx kenny Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 cracking looking p1 you have there, i do like them kenny
sti pretender Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Nice looking P1 and planned mod will give you a nice power increase. Roads are a bloody nightmare just now you spend more time looking for potholes than enjoying driving the car.
Kosy Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 You are right about that! My everyday car got hit by a piece of rubble off a pot hole and caused an instant five inch crack on the windscreen. Car's out the garage, cleaning time
mystery machine Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Need to get myself up to the East Neuk soon Meant to say... the lady formerly my girlfriend and now my wife Is that not how it usually works? i.e. I'm sure my wife used to be my girlfriend, but I usually just introduce her as "the wife"
dan_jess Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 The car is looking great. I bet it felt faster out on its first run for a while.
