dan_jess Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Some of you may have noticed i had put a wanted ad about a Series McRae up on here. Well at the weekend my friend Tommy and I went down to Newton Stewart to view a car and he ended up buying it. On the road down we had spotted a place that we thought would be perfect for pictures, so on the road back we grabbed some (not many, light was fading and we needed home). will get better pics of the cars soon. http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w255/ad.../Untitled-1.jpg http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w255/ad.../Untitled-2.jpg http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w255/ad.../Untitled-5.jpg http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w255/ad.../Untitled-6.jpg http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w255/ad.../Untitled-4.jpg http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w255/ad.../Untitled-3.jpg
wrxmania Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Very nice - looks tidy and original too Brian.
dan_jess Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Dam it, i meant for those to appear on the forum
wulsey Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 I know this car as im also from Newton Stewart & it is a nice clean standard example. The Galloway forest road from Newton Stewart to New Galloway is a cracking road with some good spots for a few pics.
scooby222 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 just gorgeous, for me the 2 ultimate uk cars and both look crackers - especially in their natural habitat, gravel tracks
dan_jess Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 It is a brilliant road, we had a good run back home, hardly met any other cars, was really good just the 2 classics burbling along. Im surprised you didnt spot us down there, we were kicking about for a while, parked outside a good chippie
Kosy Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Nice pics and a fitting setting! Both cars look great. Your P1 looks really similar to mine with the silver 18s. 22B vents and carbon mirrors are sweet. Must be almost fully run in now....
dan_jess Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Thanks for the comments guys, im really happy for Tommy with the car he got. I was really surprised with the interior, it is immaculate inside, the Recaros are spotless and just like new. I think we are heading up to Kames on Sunday afternoon if any of you are heading up.

Were you's at the chippie at the town hall?
dan_jess Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Cheers Kosy, i thought that when you posted the pictures of your car up. Would be good to get some pictures of the two of them together, perhaps up at Knockhill sometime. The car is run in now, actually done 850 miles now, getting Hardrace engine mounts fitted tomorrow and have a hybrid front mount (hopefully soon) to fit before it goes for mapping.
dan_jess Posted September 22, 2010 Author Posted September 22, 2010 Hi Wulsey, it was Sunday we were down, we were there for a few hours but mostly out of town, Michael had put the car indoors at his work. Yes it was the chippie at the town hall, needed refueled before heading up the road and on to Glasgow for a night out
wulsey Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 That explains why i never saw you on saturday then. Its a good road out to Michael's work too.
Kosy Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Definitely. I was at Knockhill on Saturday and was having a natter with Steve about your car. It is going to be a cracker. Enjoy Kames at the weekend, I can't make it unfortunately. Next event I can get to I'll drop you a PM to see if you are heading.
Midnight21 Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Excellent pics of 2 stunning cars )the black and white pic looks great)

That could be a bad thing for your wallet haha, it will probably have set the cogs in motion. As long as the weather holds out we will take a run up in the afternoon. Only 12miles or so from us. Yes, defo give us a shout the next event your heading to, one of my mates is a keen amateur photographer so should get some brilliant pictures. Cheers Dan
mystery machine Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 They sure don't make 'em as pretty as that any more
sczscoob Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Very nice, what number did you end up with? The Mcrae looks really clean.

Good to see the mileage is heading in the right direction bud.. Not long now eh. ps: the car is looking very clean. You been polishing it ?
dan_jess Posted September 23, 2010 Author Posted September 23, 2010 Cheers for the comments. The McRae is number 127, it has a couple of door dings but other than that its in brilliant condition. Got a call earlier Frank, engine mounts are done, just heading to pick the car up, just the front mount to go on and its about ready for mapping. The pictures are decieving, the car was pretty grubby from the run down, hopefully get some decent weather at the weekend to give it a good clean. Cheers Dan
