wrx kenny Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 As a few of you know im now going down the road of the 2. 5 block for my bugeye, ive had a look at prices from rogerclark motorsport etc for a forged built block .im now in contact with a us company called gruppe-s motorsport over there for one of their forged blocks which are on comparison are almost 50% less than a similar block back in the uk. Has anyone on here gone down that road buying from the us , and encountered any problems was also wondering if i would have to pay import tax , as i say e mailed the above company but they are mega slow at responding to my requests which is now making me look elsewhwre . my thanks in advance for your replies kenny

G.Mac Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 (edited) I went for Ron at http://www.raw1performance.com/ for my build, he has excellent coms and will try to save you money where he can but unfortunately he has been in involved in a nasty car accident in the Czech Republic last week so may well be out of action for a while http://stlsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php...news!/page3 Again I cant recommend Ron enough Graeme Edited August 26, 2010 by G.Mac

BalliSTIc Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 THIS might be worth a look too. My only worry with overseas builds is how long your car's up on bricks IF it all goes wrong... it's surely not easy to send a shortblock back across the pond for a strip-down...?
