irish al Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 It takes a lot to get me annoyed but Tim at Autoecosse in Dundee managed to succeed today. I phoned up last Saturday to see if they would be interested in buying my car, got a reasonable offer over the phone and was asked to take the car up so they could see it. The wife took it up last week and the garage agreed on a price based on the car being returned to standard and asked us to bring it back up today for the sale. Arrived at the garage this morning to be told by Tim that he was unable to buy my car today as his boss had taken the cheque book off him due to a slump in sales last week. I wouldn’t of been so bother had I got a phone call, email or text to tell me not to bother coming up. It would of saved me taking a half day off work and the two hour round journey for two cars as the wife followed me up to take me home again. Needless to say I left without any polite small talk. Tim, if Carlsberg made @rseholes, you probably be the best one around.
05WRX Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Unusual for Ecosse. Tim is a great guy and thier customer service is pretty good. I haven't had any issues with them but i guess everyone has their off days.
tomwrx08 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 it dont cost that much to give u a quick call and explain that they couldnt buy it, save u the time and effort.
rig-pig Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 bad that they didn't phone you m8, i have had 2 scoobs from them my wrx and the wagon as the family car and i'm very happy with sales department, as for the service/parts department Peter and the team are top guys always happy to help even if its just advice
thefastone Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 I've only used them the once, and was happy with their service, Like Craig said, peter and his guys are great, and I've chatted to Tim also, and seems to be a genuinely nice guy... But then to not take 2 seconds to give you a call, considering that not everyone has all the time in the world, I think is slightly out of order, ok, it wasn't his fault that they couldn't buy the car, but for the sake of a 5 minute call... Take it that he didn't offer to get back to you or anything?

Take it that he didn't offer to get back to you or anything? Probably wasnt his fault. I was only ever annoyed that he didnt phone, nothing else. Couldnt comment on the garage as Ive never bought anything, or SOLD anything to them either. Tim has apologised for not phoneing, apparently he didnt have my number but I did leave our details with the salesman. Apologies have been made and discussions are ongoing....................... thefastone Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Well that's good that at least something might still come from it, Sounds like a small communication error, and that happens, just a pain when your on the reciving end... Hopefully you get it sorted in the end Al.
