rio180 Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Thinking of putting 5mm spacers on to make my wheels stand out a bit more. Will this size of spacer be safe or cause any problems with my drive shafts or bearings. My new alloys sit 5mm further inside the arches ,compaired to my old alloys .Cheers paul
BalliSTIc Posted March 4, 2010 Posted March 4, 2010 Need to know the following to advise you mate... Model Year Alloy size and offset Tyre size, eg: 225/45/R17 You might be fine to go ahead with 5mm, but as well as catching the tyre top on the arches (particularly depending on your suspension setup) you also need to consider that shoving the front wheels out 5mm may bring 'em too close to the front and back of the front arches when you turn. PM me if you like, but will need the above info at any rate.
