yogi- Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 The BT advert saying........100's of people return to BT each week. To everyone who has turned their backs on SIDC should remember that one day, you will be back to this great forum. I have had many many rib tickling laughs on here and met some truly great people. The thing that makes me sad is the way the nobs went about stealing good people away from a forum that has worked so hard in creating what only can be described, as a great comunity. Shame on you..
Scooby Hoo? Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Still here as well Yogi. Sorry to hear the news, chin up Tunnel run anyone

Yet another "keyboard hero" statement from the man who has done his upmost to disrupt the forward movement of www.Kentscoobies.com . Its statements like the one above that give us, the long term members of this club, the drive and enthusiasm to make the new forum as good as any other. If you would like to name the so called "nobs" as you put it, then im sure we could arrange a meet to discuss this statement at further detail....rant over.!! jon

mikkers Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Yogi was the third person I ever met off here. He was very welcoming and very friendly, he is a good guy. He is not a keyboard hero, although I'm not entirely sure what that means. Maybe he thinks that the original ks members felt they had a god given right to waft in from extended absences and assume they were still in control, when actually, things were running very smoothly without them on SIDC. So when it comes to disruption, Yogi is one direction I am not looking in. And on a personal level, I have read your Facebook page Ian, and I am extremely sorry for your loss.

No one has ever been in control....end off. This is a club for the members, run by the members. Some people take the lead and some follow, thats life ! No one has ever told me what and when to do things on this site or any other for that matter. I visit this site on a regular basis, maybe not to post, but i always know whats going on. I only ever post when ive got something constructive to add, so does that make me one of the ones "waft in from extended absences ", i dont think so. I have been part of this club since 2003, not always in a road going scoob, but part of it none the less. The club has only been subject to all of these "issues" in the last few years, never a problem before then! So how long have you been a member? and i cant remember seeing you at a meet recently? Im sure some of the original members will look in at sometime and post their feelings on your thoughts also. jon

Pele Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I came on here tonight with the intention of offering my condolences on your loss Ian which I saw on Facebook - however, I find this: yogi- said: The BT advert saying........100's of people return to BT each week.To everyone who has turned their backs on SIDC should remember that one day, you will be back to this great forum. The thing that makes me sad is the way the nobs went about stealing good people away from a forum that has worked so hard in creating what only can be described, as a great comunity. Shame on you.. I left BT and I certainly won't be returning in a hurry!!! I like a phone company who have their call centre's in the UK with people who you can understand and who speak English I take it I must be one of those who have turned my back on SIDC, and a 'nob' - been called many things, but thats a first - and I have stolen all of SIDC's members away, surely if this was true I think I'd have had a call from Phil by now?? When KentScoobies was first born as a proper club I ran it more or less single handedly, and everyone was quite happy to let me sort everything out and just turn up, but then when I had to take a back seat and let others arrange things, they would start but never finish, and thats when people got disheartened with the club and started saying it shouldn't be ran by one person. I agreed with this but when I asked no one seemed willing to put their name forward. Things then went from bad to worse when a small group of members decided to boycott every meet or event we were supposed to attend and not turn up, and the arguments which were made public made us the laughing stock of every Subaru forum in the UK, not to mention every other Marque! I don't recall you helping me when I was getting this trouble from some of the members, in fact you were one of the first to 'turn your back' on me! So you have hardly been helping matters yourself have you? All you seem to do is pop up from time to time to start a thread off then sit back and watch the fireworks - is this how you get your kicks Ian? It has always been a case of I'd be damned which ever course was chosen, and for the last few years I've been asked can we have our own website like the other clubs do, then when Dean offered his website for us to use so as far as I'm concerned you don't look a gift horse in the mouth, and I took it and the club then had it's own website with a core group to act as admin/moderators,etc and 'I' has now become 'We' We have not forced anyone to leave this site, and if asked I point our members in the direction of SIDC if they want to look at other sites, as I also point them to Scoobynet, scoobycity etc. Can you say you have had anything from me or any of the other admin of KentScoobies.com to say leave SIDC and come to our website? People seem quick enough to find someone to blame and point fingers, but when they are asked for help they disappear, funny that!
juha555 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 some people are never happy. sad lifes give rise to looking else where for somthing to focus on bring back gas chambers
matthew_buckland Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and obviously forums are the place to air them, no one will agree on the running of any club and or what they feel is the desertion of the club, if we were all the same with the same thoughts and feelings then our lives would be pretty boring. Ian my heart goes out to you and your family on your recent loss, regardless of what is posted on the forums you have mine and Matts heartfelt sympathy, take care of each other mate x I know i haven't been on the forums much lately but people who know me know we have other things in our life at mo.
