Smell Of Petrol

noticed the past couple of weeks when my car is idling , there is a really strong smell of unburnt petrol in the cars cabin any ideas folks my thanks in advance .

Hi Kenny,

That's apparently quite a common fault with your model/age Impreza (i.e. raw fuel smell in cold weather) - some info here on the 'official' fix:

check the fuel filter hoses 1 of them might be cracked or split

mine had this problem a few days ago all sorted now very easy to fix

my friend had this on his wrx as well he never got to the bottom of it his mechanic looked at the car about 10 times i know this is no help but thought i would let youi know as it seems a common problem
