lumsden26 Posted December 3, 2009 Posted December 3, 2009 hi folks! My scoob has started not blowing hot air when ideling but does when on the move. Thermostat gauge works and moves as it should, water level is at full and it does blow hot so can't be heater matrix any ideas ?
thefastone Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 To Be honest sounds like you just need to bleed the system... Ive done it before (When my radiator burst), but I forget exactly how I did it... the fact that its cold when your idling says to me that there might be air in the matrix... I could be VERY wrong about that mind, I'm certainly no expert...

sti pretender Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Had a similar problem on my sport and it was an air lock, bleed the system as Dale suggested. If you do a search there are tips on filling the system.
ciaranrb5 Posted December 5, 2009 Posted December 5, 2009 Yes sounds like mine as well. To bleed the system just remove the cap when the car is cold and start the car let it run till it warms slightly check both hoses inlet and outlet to the radiator warm up. Think there may be a couple of spots where air get trapped so may be an idea to squeeze the inlet and outlet hoses a few times when its warm to agitate the water. Then stick the cap on and allow the car to warm to the stage where the fan kicks in. Allow the fan to run and shut off again and hey presto hopefully your heater works on idle?
lumsden26 Posted December 5, 2009 Author Posted December 5, 2009 cheers for the help folks air problem fixed but a more serious problem has appeared cheers mark
