empty_heed Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 ok in my 95 wrx auto theirs a wee buttton in front of the gear stick. having had the car two weeks and thought that must be the only button i've not pressed yet so what did i have to go do. yip i pressed it this then made me stuck in park and not just in a car park noooo it was in mcd's drive through luckily ting tong was behind me to assist and i had gears again but now i have to push it in every time i want to get it out of park. what have i done ?

Mine is a newage so may not be the same. has a button to the top left of the gear lever console, if this is what you mean i have never pressed it, when i was first looking at buying the car the owner pressed the button to roll the car forward when the keys were not in the ignition, took this to mean the button was to unlock the transmission from park when the engine was not running! Am assuming you're not talking about the button on the gear lever itself, my car has a very small button on the gear change console, hope this sort of makes sense?
