scoob fae ork Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 The cost of keeping cars like that running proper is beyond belief. I could be wrong in saying this as I'm more than slightly drunk but if i remember correctly roger clark motor sports gob stopper costs over£200000 just to keep it on its 4 wheels for the year. Yes the Evo can handle more power than the Scoob but at the levels that are being sought after here even the Evo would be very un reliable for every day use. IMO i would tune a Scoob to around 400-450 BHP and get the best torque out of it i could so the car is still very reliable but can still pis5 on all your Ferrari's and Lambos around. Sorry if people disagree with this as im not just best sure what im trying to say
braveheart Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 so what is your point? The funny thing is that we are slating ourselves! Do you know the cost involved in running/maintaining a car like these? Even at my spec i probably spent way more than the cost of my car.... Are you worried that we may be beaten at the charity event? If we do get humped then just let it be.It's getting involved and having a good time that counts That is very true Peter it all in the name of Charity just enjoy it, if they beat us on the Dyno there always the track, he he
scooby222 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 dont think theres many evos with a genuine 900 bhp on 2.0 engines, most will be bored out to 2.2 or 2.4 anyways its not the figures but what the car(and driver) can do - as the fast one in his standard classic ably showed at the weekend keeping up with cars with 100-150 hp more than him
john_stevenson2 Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Loving the idea of a 900bhp evo but what's the fastest or should I say the most powerful an Impreza can go to? If you are refering to Sams car, you'll find it doesn't have a Mitsubishi engine.
scientific steve Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 If I remember right (it was a year or so ago) when I was having a bleather with Andy N at AWD he mentioned that his car was able to go to and run at 1000bhp but it would need rebuilding after 20 hours use, or somewhere around them lines So it was "detuned" to 750 or so for more realiable use
