Guest Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Hey guys not been on here for a while looking for some advice. Thinking bout trading in my 2002 sti 72k miles tuned by andy forrest to 340 BHP, full main dealer history e.t.c for a 2001 p1 #987/1000 55k imaculate both inside and out, 18" oz wheels and wilwood brake upgrade. Stuggling to get a decent valuation for the p1 but its gonna cost me £3750 to change, is this worth it?? Cheers in advance Kev
johnnyr6 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 If the P1 is in good nick and not overpriced then imho.. yes, it is worth it. As everyone knows... Classics Rule!! jonboywrx Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 I agree, if the P1 is mint and good price then that would be my choice!! Enjoy Jon
sti pretender Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Has the P1 had a rebuilt as they have a habit of going bang around the 50k mark?
fai17 Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 You better start saving for a gearbox for the P1 or any classic that is running more than it should...LOL Atleast with your current car it has a really really gearbox that you are used too.

P1 is standard and will be staying that way, no it has not had a rebuild but whats the chance i would be looking at one in the near future. It also has a full dealer service history. Gonna pass if its likey to cost me a heap of money tho

Gonna pass if its likey to cost me a heap of money tho from what i remember with my mates getting their p1s, i think the engines were prone to letting go about the 40k mile mark, although may have been down to folk fitting exhaust without a remap.... if you can get a mint condition p1 it would def be worth buying, i would have 1 in a flash...if it is standard and you want to make sure it is safe then why not buy it and pick up another ecu(eg apexi) and get andy f to map it, that way you got the car you want and the peace of mind of a safe map?? scott
