EN4ever Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 strange knocking sound any ideas plz?->had a new clutch fitted last friday.ever since i have had a knocking/popping sound coming from the centre to rear of the car.only seems to happen if i drop down a gear and let the clutch out(mainly from 3rd to 2nd).one other thing that happens is when im reversing it feels like ive got the handbrake on,but this has only happend 2-3 times.im going to take back to garage tomorrow but just wanted to know if anyone (The SIDC Muppet-O-Tron has corrected your lazy use of the English language. Please use English and not text talk on thes has any ideas on what this is or could be as it may help me tomorrow, cheers

m@tt untimate STImulation Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 gearbox thats what happend the day my gearbox went bang. cud just be clutch tho
EN4ever Posted February 18, 2009 Author Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) took it back today and the knocking was a loose gearbox,so thats sorted now but the sensation of the brakes being on when pulling away and reverseing is getting worse.the garage said its my master cylinder but when you pull away and its seized if you take out of gear and let clutch out it frees up without touching the brakes.i really dont think its brakes as it was fine before the clutch change.i shall take it back again tommorrow do you think im being fobbed off or is it a coincidence like the garage says? ta Edited February 18, 2009 by EN4ever
kentperformance Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Might be worth getting a second opinion, especially as it's all happened since the clutch change. If not take it back, and make sure all the other bolts are tight, and that the gearbox has the right oil level, sounds silly, but you never know.
