PR08RAD Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Due to th snow i rang my boss early this morning to see how bad snow was at work, as i could just about fight my way onto A2 but wasnt sure how it was further away. ........ just got a call from him telling not to risk it far too dangerous and they wont be busy. plus all the local guys that usually walk can still get in LOL so they will just have to cover
PR08RAD Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 really want to go and "play" in snow with car, but am debating the fact that it means getting dressed and then getting cold lol. plus could get messy dont want any damage to car. maybe just grab the duvet spend day on sofa playing ps3, eating crisps and drinking hot chocolate, mrs isnt home till late this afternoon just me and the puppy.... men about the house doing male things ;P
col_2 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 i went in, got as far as the m11 & turned back, was on my way to luton, blue scoobie yellow stickers went passed me on m2 near bluewater at 6am, think it was blue v or gary may? _ _ _ cdg sounded nice

shiralee Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Got to Canary warf then turned back , no roads gritted in london total mess Not risking it!!! Have borrowed a car and cant risk anything happening to that one!!
granby Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 All buses taken off the road so no work for me as i can't get into work
PR08RAD Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 this winter is a complete shambles in and around kent.... most roads have NOT been gritted, it was hardly a huge surprise after the last few days weather, that we were due snow. slip roads in and out of bluewater pretty much sheet balck ice. great tobogan run, but it doesnt take much to think how snow and ice will affect such roads.... i pay enough road tax and still they get it sooo wrong !! GRRR (rant over)

GRRR (rant over) This weathers been predicted for days - why does this country stop when we've had snow? Tanias sister lives in Switzerland and they've been under 2ft of snow now for weeks - her hisband still gets up, drives to the station in the village and jumps on the train to Bern as if nothings happened. . . . I'm on a bus route so had a gritter go past yesterday morning and early evening . . . . and then the buses decide to take the day off I'm due in work at 6.30 tonight , fortunately I car share and it's not my turn to drive - unfortunately my colleague drives a Suzuki Ignis 4grip - still, saves taking mine out and risking further damage I suppose

scoobienut6 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 i wish usa, only paris . but a break is a rest from the norm no matter the weather i guess
matthew_buckland Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 All my boys are off so is Matt, took boys over the country park for a play, it was brilliant, really enjoyed ourselves and hopefully made good memories for the kids to look back on. We dont get snow like this often so i say enjoy why we can. As for gritters there were loads on A2/M2 last night between gillingham and dartford but they wasn't making a big impact on the surface snow, it was coming down hard.
luke_clifton Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Was coming home from work late last night and the roads were just mental. Got work again at 3 and so not looking forward to the drive in.

How often do we get snow, frozen rail lines, fallen leafs, the wrong ice, no drivers, too wet rain, and Oh no the sun's out. Hardly ever, so I rest my case. ANYWAY WALK TO WORK IT WILL DO YOU ALL GOOD. PS I'm at home in front of a nice Log stove toasting my toes
RATechnology Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Ha! This quite funny! I currently work from home, so really don't need to go anywhere!! I pity all those who have had to go out today! Chaos comes to mind but then this country doesn't seem to cope with any sort of extreme weather conditions
gary may Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 i went in, got as far as the m11 & turned back, was on my way to luton, blue scoobie yellowstickers went passed me on m2 near bluewater at 6am, think it was blue v or gary may? _ _ _ cdg sounded nice not me,i've gone stickerless...................but i went in to work today and thank god for all wheel drive
leebo77 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 What a day! Back safe and sound though. Main roads were fine but I picked a mate up from Bromley and between here and there was a bit dodgy. All in one piece tho'
ScoobyShep Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Got back from work at 3 today but yesterday was a different matter had to do a htd rear and a quater glass on a 307 SW just out side of Ashford the bloke wouldnt bring it in to our depot in Canterbury, this is the reason why 'I might not get back home, oh actually you might not get back from here' he lived in the middle of no where but its ok for me to get stuck in the middle of no where but not for him. As you can tell I was not impressed but the guy has no guarentee as it was a blizzard and the glue wont stick lol

mikkers Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 It must be bad, our local indian wouldnt deliver so had to go to the competition who did deliver and from much further away. Hence a potentially very unpleasent situation was resolved by the hardcore delivery drivers from the bengal brasserie.
yogi- Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 All buses taken off the road so no work for me as i can't get into work Back at work tomorrow Ian are you?
