Jamessti Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 I think you will need to get a Apexi Power ECU, I think JGM does the whole lot for around 800 notes +vat.
emoe Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Mine is a 98 model, i had Paul at ZEN PERFORMANCE fit and map an Apexi. this is the way to go mate unless you want antilag and launch control. It replaces the ECU you have as its not mappable nor can you fit a sister board, (piggyback) to yours.
baser999 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 (edited) I had my00 classic remapped by Bob Rawle couple of years ago - are the 98s different? Edited February 2, 2009 by BASER999
emoe Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 I had my00 classic remapped by Bob Rawle couple of years ago - are the 98s different? 98 have a different ECU. cant put sisterboard, piggyback or even remap the original. Has to be standalone ECU change. 00 model has phase 2 engine, different ECu. will allow piggyback and remap of original.

ScoobyShep Posted February 2, 2009 Author Posted February 2, 2009 Could I fit a phase 3 ecu to my car then get it mapped/chiped or does the wireing differ?

j-k Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 And wiser mmmmmmmmmmmm.... As already said, speak to JGM. Power Enginnering used to do a daughter board addition for the 98 ecu, but i dont think its available anymore. It was only a "crude" remap anyway. I believe Andy at ESL is also working on a solution for the 98 car. Best bet is to go for a Simtek, or Apexi,Gems, Motec, or solaris, depending on your Mods. Simtek would get my vote for good value for money with the addition of some nice "add ons" if you wanted them! Good Luck jon
