Rally Driving Lessons

Hi folks,

Looking for any info you may have on a rally driving lesson (off-road), hoping to make it in January - March.

Definitely not Knockhill.

Preferrably somewhere far away ;) (Ireland poss? Hint @ Paulc555?)

To be honest the better the experience the more will be spent on it.

Has anyone done it Abroad? Or heard anywhere decent that does it?

Ayrshire is a possibility but would prefer to combine it with a long weekend break.

Cheers!

Cheers mate but something like this sounds good:

The Two Day Winter Rally Experience- Peugeot & Subaru:

£495 per person.

This two day course is the ULTIMATE rally school experience. You will spend the first day getting to grips with the powerful front wheel drive 150 BHP Peugeot 205, learning to find the balance and grip of the special spiked tyres as they bite into the ice. The first stage is designed to get you into the 'feel' of a rally car then each subsequent stage increases in difficulty and variation. The course begins with basic techniques and skills such as steering control and racing lines, progressing to advanced techniques such as the Scandinavian flick, powerslides, lift off oversteer and braking control to name but a few.

Day two is spent taming the power of the awesome 280 BHP 4WD Subaru Impreza as you learn to drift and slide around the frozen stages with the skill and flair of a true professional. Each day climaxes with the driver and instructor swapping seats, for a jaw dropping high speed passenger ride that will never be forgotten!

You know if you look back through your past issues if true grip, I'm positive that there was a good write up about a rally school, I think it was england, and they only use imprezas...

I'd have alook and tell you, but I'm at sea currently, and getting to my back copies is somewhat difficult...

Place got a couple of page write up and sounded ideal... ;)

Otherwise, I'd love to have a bash at the Norway one that you just mentioned, Ive seen that advertised in true grip a few times too... :boldblue:

Here is the old thread about the place i mentioned last night. The phone number is in the first picture.

Cheers Paul, - the more we talked about the snow that marky mentioned last night, the more we decided it sounded great although, the one I've quoted above - the more I've researched it, I can't find details on it and there has been a website stating that it offered scholarships but in the end it never resulted in anything :S Also that people made bookings but never recieved access...basically it was dodgy ;)

I've spent all morning calling every rally school in the UK including the Gwynne one mentioned below (no answer) and have had a few pointers where to look - one school has an associate in Norway or Finland who also has a rally school! I'm still phoning away!

There seems to be major discounts for group bookings (as there's upto 10 cars per school)-well the decent ones. so possibly I'd like to propose in the initial stages of price checking, would anyone else be up for making this a group event? If so give me a shout and I'll keep you posted on details via pm.

It's looking in the region of £500 - £800 per person for a 2 day course in the snow and will include flight/ferry, accomodation etc. Only due to discounts. Max of upto 10 people for best results.

And there's also Ice karting :boldblue:

Proposed date will be late March.
