edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 doctor admitted its hard to diagnose as its close to normal flu.............as I was on recieving end I can assure you it is very real
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 ....................anyway got the rugby on - forgot how boring it was
kevlorn Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 never played rugby, dont understand half the rules anyway, but come on ENGLAND
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 you're the weight of a player so that does surprise me
kevlorn Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 pmsl all 12 stone of me....................unlike someone i now ^^^^^^
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 you've lost a lot of weight since I last saw ya then
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 nope losing it mate - from my last chemo till now I am already a stone and a half lighter..............6lb in the last 8 months alone
kevlorn Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 neveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer..lol hows the check ups going bud, how long to the all clear?
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 last check up was yesterday............2 and a half years clear and Doc said I am already beating the statistics because in 70% of cases it comes back in 18 months to 2 years.......................looking on the net this disease strikes those between 15 and 35 years old but it hit me at 40 and it is a virus that causes it....................however those that have had it are more likely to be struck by Leukemia so I will be monitored for many years to come!
kevlorn Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 yh,, my mate had it again within the 2 years..had the full works of treatment 2nd time...drained his imune system right out etc..been ok for 2 years now fingers crossed, fingers crossed for you too..
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 it did that to me as well - spent a week in hospital having antibiotics pumped into me 24 hours a day - luckily it was a mild one............its called neutrapenia ( sp ) which is when all your white blood cells have been wiped out so even the midest infection which you would not even notice can be a potential killer.............I am forever checking my neck for any swellings and have to go back at the slightest abnormality but it does not rule my life..............I am not even allowed to get a tan in the summer cos that could trigger it again
kevlorn Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 thats it,,keep out the sun as best you can(so they say.although my mate has never sunbathed n his life anyway)..positive,mental attitude is the only way to get through it,,,good family and mates help alot i think,,and you have loads of them both...
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I do mate....................posting on here and "Devon Scoobies" during that period really really helped and knowing I had a Scooby to use on the good days had a real positive effect
kevlorn Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 so true..were behind you all the way...(in a good way) not just listening to your rear end honest
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 careful Kev you must be into double figures posting today....... another thing it said is anyone that has Hodgkins must not smoke
kevlorn Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 my mate smokes.he never stopped, and his fetish for beer is alot..i mean alot.....its not the reason for the problem..and i stand by that..just unlucky.. ummm yh my post count is getting above my recent average..must be my company..(you whore) remember the good old days ed..lol BOLLOCKINGS
edmondo Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I stopped smoking for 14 months after being hospitalised and completely stopped drinking during the treatment cos my stomach couldnt take it however making up for it now yep I do mate - days when this area was well busy and trying to talk to 4 or 5 people at once on the same thread.............sadly people was not happy about it so they all drifted away...............now they want people to post on SIDC but people have given up on this Forum because they felt they could not have a laugh but us oldies stick around and laugh about the old days
kevlorn Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 pmsl..oldies..you talking about yourself.....used to be a cracking evenings entertainment on here, better than the soaps crap..lolhopefully it will pick up again for the show season.. evenng piere me old mucker..hows you and family...
