T123VOR Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 This friend of mine, let's call him Mr W, has a standard exhaust and he wondered if anyone could recommend a 3" exhaust backbox? He said that it seemed a shame to be quiet when the flat four burble of his, er, Kia picanto was such a pleasant sound when on full throttle... I said NurSpec but he suggested a more 'Jap-style' BB may be to his liking - I suggested a H&S he said hadn't he already done that on a , er, kia pride... I said oh yes I remember now.... He would welcome any suggestions regarding my er his car
mikkers Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I would recommend your "friend" immediately sells his kia picanto and gets something a lot more practical, like a beemer estate. ps drove past your house at the weekend and the kia looked nice. Quiet, but nice. But i think the local hoodlums have stuck an ironing board on the back of it.....

T123VOR Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 OK OK it was me As I already have a modified 3" system fitted a change of backbox doesn't count as a mod... it's simply a change There I've said it But I've looked and there aren't many 3" entry backboxes out there. I don't think the H&S is a true 3" BB they just taper a japstyle up to 3"... nur spec is an option but I thought i'd try something else, done Prodrive, STI, H&S japstyle, NurSpec, Milltek, ... what's left...?
granby Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 As your system has a resonator in the middle why don't you change it for a unresonated section from miltek
T123VOR Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 As your system has a resonator in the middle why don't you change it for a unresonated section from miltek Would that make a big difference then?

Jamessti Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 (edited) If you are willing to import one, you got more choice. Kakimoto Racing - Full Mega N1, just as loud as blitz, or Regu 06 & R. Or Fujitsubo, RM-01A or the Legalis Super R. If you click here you can listern to the fujitsubo exhaust on a subaru just to name a few Edited October 7, 2008 by Jamessti

T123VOR Posted October 8, 2008 Author Posted October 8, 2008 Good thinking team I'll give Jap performance a ring... might keep the res'ed centre and just change the backbox ... a little more noise but not neighbour hating like my NurSpec was....
T123VOR Posted October 8, 2008 Author Posted October 8, 2008 The centre has a cat as well as a resonator.... Hmmm might drop that out until MOT time then
