prodrive tony Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) Sorry for posting again but I'm buying now. What injectors do I put in my UK98?? Getting confused by adapters, phase 1/phase 2 etc?? If I get yellows do I need to adapt? Thanks again. Edited October 5, 2008 by Prodrive Tony
emoe Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Depends on what engine you have. The 98 was right on the cusp of Phase 1.5 and Phase 2 engines. If your COIL PACK is in the middle of the intake manifold, and the AIR CONTROL VALVE is a hunky thing on the right hand side, then its a Phase 1.5 If the COIL PACK is on the right hand side and the AIC valve is smaller, then you have a phase 2 Bear in mind, thats a visual check on a STANDARD CAR, if someone has messed about and fitted a later intake or such like then youll not know for certain, youll then need to look at the fuel rails. Phases do use different fitments for injectors. Try taking a pic of the engine and injectors with fuel rail and we may be able to give you an idea. Good luck.

emoe Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 ok thanks Ill get a picture, I do have coil pack in middle. Ok that sounds like a Phase 1.5 engine, so youll need Phase 1.5 injectors or Phase 2 with the adapters.

emoe Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 EDITED ALL THAT!! just read your signature. Right so with a 20g TD05 and the pump already uprated and an FMIC id hope you have had the Apexi in place already!! Its never a good idea to run the 20g on a car that originally had a TD04 and small top mount as the fueling will be way out!!! SO!! i would go for some 440s, and have the apexi fitted ASAP, then get it mapped. Id go for a set of the correct Phase, unless you can find someone doing the cheap on a set of newage and adapters.
prodrive tony Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 Hi mate, its a 16G turbo and I had the front mount at the time. Not good, I know. Ive found some yellows off a 1997 sti, I take it these will be ok? Cheers.

Cheers. Oh soprry i thought it said 20g, but regardless the TD05 is a much bigger turbo than the original TDo4. I believe the Yellows youre looking at should fit ok, and you will certainly need that apexi sorting out then. Good luck```
granby Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Wouldn't 550's be a better option in case Tony decides to go for a bigger turbo
eureka Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Wouldn't 550's be a better option in case Tony decides to go for a bigger turbo defo i think nice 18g on there will be nice
prodrive tony Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 defo i think nice 18g on there will be nice 20G conversion in the future Yellows are 440 yeah? What colour are 550's??
eureka Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 20G conversion in the future Yellows are 440 yeah? What colour are 550's??colours dont mean a great deal mate as these are often recond by certain places
Scooby Hoo? Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 20G conversion in the future Yellows are 440 yeah? What colour are 550's?? If you buy new ones they will be Pink. Go to somewhere like Lateral Performance and they can be matched as a set. Ie the spray patten is matched and balanced so they all work the same.

eurosti Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 You have the option of going for a set of phase 2 440,s! You can send these away to Mark at lateral and get them cleaned and flowed at around 850cc. Yes total overkill for your build but the price is low! Also a decent mapper can control the excess easy. I spoke to JGM about this and witht the Apexi each injector can be trimmed to suit! It may seem alot of flow but they are future proof, you will however need a set of adaptor cups which can be had for around £30, i will post a link for the cups if you decide to go down this road. 550 injectors circa £350 ph2 440,s £60-80 2nd hand adaptors £30ish cleaned and flowed @ lateral Cica £110+VAT
