deani_age Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Some of you may know that I encountered a problem with the gearbox whilst attending the Silverstone Triple Club Trackday on the 23rd August 2008. Deano 666 took a look to see if the problem could be seen from the outside (linkage), and I had offers of help from Dazzler and Arron & Jon to remove it from the car. Knowing how heavy it is and the fact that I really don't have anywhere suitable to do the work, I have had it removed by a local garage. The next step is to have it inspected to determine (if possible) the problem(s), and then to get it repaired. Will update this topic as more info becomes known.

The ones in your box will more than likely be ally, and deans will probably be steel. Arron and myself may have a solution for dean this week....fingers crossed.... jon

deani_age Posted October 5, 2008 Author Posted October 5, 2008 Thanks to Dazzler who removed the gearshafts and separated the last 2 sections of my gearbox. An even bigger thanks for finding the missing bolt.
deani_age Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 The gearbox (in bits) is now with Craig and Paul at Kent Performance, who are going to get their gearbox specialist to fully strip and clean it before carrying out a thorough inspection. I now have to wait for the condition report before deciding whether to get it re-assembled in it's current condition or not.

The Guru Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Craig PM'd me yesterday, said will advise early next week. Dean, I seem to remember it was not that bad, jsut a reverse gear on the output shaft. I may have someone else who could help rebuild it if your stuck. Speak to you soon. Arron.
deani_age Posted November 10, 2008 Author Posted November 10, 2008 Received the following message from Kent Performance at the end of last week. "it's all spot on inside the box, just needs cleaning and reassembly" So hopefully not too long to wait, then will drop the car off to KP get the box re-fitted.
