What Filter And Exhaust?

HI folks , just after some advise on gettin a filter and exhaust for my 02 sti import? was told should get around 340 bhp with those bits added to it, also is the STi JDM with no mods sittin at 305 bhp ?

I dont think you will get a 40 bhp increase from just an exhaust and filter, i would have thought a re map would be needed as well.

STI import should be about 290 without any mods.

Airfilter wont give any recogniseable power increase, max of maybe 5hp depending on the application.

Exhaust CAN give better gains, but not if you just change a back box. That will gain you Zero.

the retriction is in the cat pipes.

To make another 30 bhp, then you can remove the cat pipes and decat the whole exhaust, replacing the downpipe and center section and add the filter, and with luck you might see 30 horses added, but every application is different.

I woould have thought on an 02 sti with a full decat, filter and remap, 40-50 should be obtainable easily.
