20withascooby Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 i had a visit this morning from 4 pc plods in a big marked jeep who have been trying to find me for a few days after 4 complaints across my route to and from work about my exhaust waking people up on the way home from my night **** but nobody could get my number plate only a description of my car so they tried to work out where i lived by where the complaints had come from and have been driving round today and yesterday trying to find a silver scooby then they found it sitting on my drive.ooops how did that get there. so it took 4 of them to find me and then he came in said its a bit loud i said i am aware and i have a bung on order in the post then he said do u no ur number plate is small i replied "is it i only put it on to go to a car show at the weekend il change it now if you want me to" his reply "dont worry about it im not going to log anything about the exhaust or the number plate as i cant be bothered with paper work but just be aware that traffic cops myt pull u up about the number plate just try and keep the noise down a bit at night please" he was also amazed when i said none of my neighbours complain or say anything to me about it the one next door has 2 small kids and hes ok with it see found another nice police that means there are 2!!! now
granby Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Wait for the third copper, bet he won't be so nice
shiralee Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Wait for the third copper, bet he won't be so nice Next KS meet..In your road...if we are all there when we are gone yours wont seem so loud!! Is it not enough we rarely get to go over 30-40 cos of the fear of a 'New Speed bump' appearing..ad they seem to be getting bigger and bigger!! I get woke up every morning around 5 by a 'lovely' child consistently thumping its feet on the radiator Now that IS noise pollution...the mere rumble of a scooby exhaust??? STOP SPOILING OUR FUN!!
20withascooby Posted August 20, 2008 Author Posted August 20, 2008 funn y how it took 4 of them though to say i cant bebtoehred with paperwork lol
luke_clifton Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 Been pulled over twice now for the noise. Each time the police have been very nice to me. Just asked me to keep the revs low (which I always do).

danno Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Been pulled over twice now for the noise. Each time the police have been very nice to me. Just asked me to keep the revs low (which I always do). Dunno about keeping the revs low. I know mine sounds far nicer rolling around town in a gear too low than it should be than it does going hard in 5th! Having said that, I've only got a Scorpion cat-back, so I'm quiet compared to the rest of you anti-social sods

james04 Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 in the time the police were wasting time talking to you some poor person was being rape, mugged, assulted, run over. well done to them twats
eurosti Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 crawl through in 3rd gear nath its very quiet, saying that im about to stick my nurspec up for sale and the fujitsubo is going back on now ive found one! The Nurspec is a bit much with a full decat and even with the bung in its over 95db!
20withascooby Posted August 23, 2008 Author Posted August 23, 2008 ts even louder if i put it in a higher gear i kinda live on a hill so have to put foot dwn to get up it then reverse up drive
danno Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 I just like the low speed rumbling burble that says "Yes, I'm going slowly and kinda in the wrong gear now, but if I put my foot down, it'll suddenly be precisely the right gear and I'll be going away from you very very quickly"
Garth W Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 (edited) What was it for The first time was cos i was making abit of noise and they thought i was goin fast second time was accelerating away from a set of lights too fast third time i got done for speeding on the m2 doing 95.54 mph last time was when i went through an amber light and they said it was red Edited August 25, 2008 by Garth W
