quagmire Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 I have been driving to Ashford from Rainham this week and a couple of times on the motorway i have encountered a problem with the car. I have been cruising at 70mph (as you do) in fifth gear but when i have accelerated a bit more the engine has revved up but no more acceleration occured... This doesn't happen everytime, only twice in 5 days but not sure what it might be. Probably a simple explanation for some of you guys but i am a bit stuck on this one. Thought it may be a clutch problem as first thing in the morning it has begun to judder a bit when pulling away. Any help would be great Lee

Where also would be the best place to fit them? How much would i be looking at? The car is a 52 plated wrx

Where also would be the best place to fit them? How much would i be looking at? The car is a 52 plated wrx Clutches can range from anything between £120 to £2000+ probably a lot more (never looked at that price range) Think a flywheel skim would be in the region of about £40-£60. Had someone fit my clutch for £120 inc. VAT To be honest though, if its not doing it in the other gears I wouldn't jump right in and get a clutch just yet, see if anyone else gives you any ideas to what it might be.
20withascooby Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 mine was only 4th a 5th then juderring got worse when they changed the clutch i was told that it is recommended to change flywheel myt aswell get a lightneded one while its off.i no a place that charges 30pound a hour labour if you can get the parts
quagmire Posted July 18, 2008 Author Posted July 18, 2008 Mine only seems to be doing it in fifth at the moment and its only happened a couple of times. Will see what a few others say before i go splashing the reddies on a clutch. Just out of curiousity 20.....where did you get your parts from etc?
20withascooby Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 got it off a member on here clutch and flywheel 75squid
dazzlers82 Posted July 18, 2008 Posted July 18, 2008 i think he has another clutch as well he may sell you an to be honest it does seem as though the clutch is on its way out an if i was you get it checked out as you may save the flywheel from getting to damaged
