timmy2take Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 After the last one I bought having head gasket failure I bought another one: My mate bought his sniffer tester along, and no signs of HG failure. All I can tell that needs doing at the moment is the rocker cover gasket (£44 last time I got one from Barretts!). The body work isn't the cleanest ever, seems to have shed loads of swirl marks. Does anyone know the best stuff to get rid of t-cut on black paint?
20withascooby Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 what mods has it got ??i can see some bonnet spacers too am i correct??
leebo77 Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 Looking good mate. Black is a bugger for swirl marks
timmy2take Posted July 12, 2008 Author Posted July 12, 2008 what mods has it got ??i can see some bonnet spacers too am i correct?? You've got good vision! green panel air filter decat pipe Magnex rear box - sounds a lot nicer than my last one(unsure of make), more aggressive as opposed to my last one which was a bit basey in comparrison if that makes any sense nology ht leads - don't know if there an aftermarket make?1 blitz turbo timer - doubles up as a boost gauge - what boost should I be running on an sti? It's got a v4 RA engine in it along with a vf24 turbo apparently lowered on tein springs grooved brake discs - fronts only toad cat 1 alarm and immobiliser Think thats about it, needs a damn good tcut and polish

Unless the fella you know is pretty cheap?

timmy2take Posted July 12, 2008 Author Posted July 12, 2008 nice looking motor! look forward to seeing and hearing it about It's not that nice looking at the moment, hasn't been treated to a clean for quite a while! Hasn't got the splitter either which is a shame, he sold it for £100 which is a little bit more than I would have paid, I guess there probably quite rare though. Been looking at this page for cleaning products to try and sort it out Polished Bliss but can't work out exactly what I need. Might give the guy an email to see what he recommends. Looks like impressive results to me.
timmy2take Posted July 12, 2008 Author Posted July 12, 2008 Failed to notice that the car was lacking a front number plate when I went and bought it today, wasn't until I went to the garage today they pointed it out to me. Anyone know a place online to get some sent out to me? I was thinking of getting a sticker on the bottom of the middle of the bumper, do you think that'd work?
ROAR Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 (edited) Scuzz has a sticky number plate on the front bumper!!! hopefully this one aint a lemon!!! Edited July 12, 2008 by ROAR

timmy2take Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 hows the scooby then timmy hope you bought a goddun let us know mate, Treated it to a clean today and was quite disappointed. I can see why the seller didn't clean it before I went round to have a look at it, as theres a hell of a lot more imperfections on the car than I could see through the dirt. Oh well you live and learn I suppose!

timmy2take Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Engine & gearbox seems spot on. Only thing that I know that needs doing is the rocker cover gasket on the drivers side, but the seller told me that at the time. £810 to insure it today though!
