scooby princess Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Nice pics!!Can I be so bold as to make a suggetsion for the next time? Move the red van to behind the Bronco and lose the bunting. The barrier kept most of the public away from us and made it difficult to take photos, and the van also made it difficult to get a good piccy. The disco would be great with the bronco and the other entertainment, could make more of that for the next time, was great to have the music. We do medieval shows and have found that any kind of barrier really puts the public off, I was watching the public today and many of them looked from a distance then walked off, maybe we did not look too welcoming. The bunting could have been used around the back of the cars and to the sides of our area. Please do not take offence at my comments, just my opinion. Great day!! I personally felt the cars were a little close together and original plans were changed when we got to the stand. We have always had a barrier to define the club area and we watched many members of the public today go under this to get to the cars even though JD car was right by the opening to get on the stand! I stood at the entrance today and watch what the people did as they came in..................they went straight to the stands that were straight ahead and near the bmx display etc but this is an issue i could address with the organisers for next year if so required by members even though we have won Best Car Club Stand at this area before and so asked to be there this year. The weather was a MAJOR factor. This is the 1st ever South West Motor Show which saw rain!

OK not a problem, just our experience with barriers is that they are just that and some folks will not go near em, but I understand what you are saying. Maybe a different slot or better weather will help.

kheldar Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 yeah some great pics. so was it not as good as previous years ? did the weather put people off and it was much quieter than in the past ? there was certainly a queue of people heading out of the town along the race course road when we went out so we quickly headed in a different direction.
jkscoob Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 my say i would like to thank you sp and mum for putting this out standing show you put on yesterday cant think of how much work gone in to this :thumbup 2nd say i would like to thank you all for making me and kev and zac wellcome to the show well worth the drive 3rd i would like too say what a pleasher too meet you all in person and what a grate bunch of peeps you all are 4 all the cars there was looking stunning and very clean and very nice 5 what a good time i had shame a bout the wether but hay didnt spoile my day 6 jd your car looks very good mate liking that a lot monks that p1 is just so sweet mate parker scoob looking good bud 7 thank you a gain too all of you very good show and jd and wife i like your dog too and the music was good too and the raffle nice one all 8 i would do another show with you guys and girls any time 9 nice pic you put up too

edmondo Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Just to reiterate. 1. - This is always a cracking Show - Special Thanks to Monki ( Bristol ) and JK ( MK ) for making the effort to come all the way down 2. Weather a bit naff - but hey cant always have sun shine - I reckon thats why we didnt win lol 3. Bronco - damn success if you ask me 4. Rich - Music man - A star as always 5. Damn Mesh - cant believe it didnt fit mine 6. Hopefully next year more people will make the effort to come Cracking pics and Vids chaps
