_dave_ Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 ok so the other day i stupidly ride the clutch while boosting it, then i think "oh **** whats that smell" as i smell "that" smell. for the last 2 days, it still smells bad, and at over 3k changes it feels "different" (like a slightly juddery feel when being pushed down) have i fudged it? or is it on its way out? it stinks!
granby Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Clutchs normally do smell for quite a while after a bit of stick but it should be fine if this is the first time it's done it, i had the clutch smell in my car for over a week when when i slipped it too much in Germany last year although mine is a uprated item
_dave_ Posted May 7, 2008 Author Posted May 7, 2008 ok thanks ian thats a bit of relief then. its the first time ive done it in the car. i believe its the original clutch also. such a nasty smell!
granby Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Agree it's a horrible smell, if it is still the original clutch then maybe it could be on the way out, try driving along in 3rd gear at about 3000rpm and accelerate with your foot on the brake just holding it back and see if it slips at all
_dave_ Posted May 7, 2008 Author Posted May 7, 2008 will do that lunch time thank you. if it is on its way out i will be forced to cry!
