_dave_ Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 hi guys just bought a hks ssqv, i had the turbosmart one but didnt like the sound too much well its arrived, ive got to connect the hks unit to the flange that goes onto the intercooler, well its got a c clip thing that is a pain in the a*** to get right. i wondered if there was an easier way to do it without going and buying the tool see pic for tool im on about
_dave_ Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 unfortunately im just going down to halfrauds to see if there ones fit.. if they do, i'm sure i can get a refund because they didn't fit............. they will prob be about £1000 from there anyway! will advise soon.
yogi- Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 Circlip pliers they either expand or retract, or you could use two small screwdrivers, but beware of the spring in the clip
_dave_ Posted April 17, 2008 Author Posted April 17, 2008 (edited) it was a nasty job. i went to halfrauds but they didnt have anything that matched what i needed. so i found a performance garage in Gillingham called Silverback Performance. well after 10minutes of 2 of there guys on it, it was sorted. Top guy that was in charge, real nice attitude to me which is uncommon i've found, i will go and see him again in the future. got home, fitted it on, all working perfect, great sound, very pleased with this one. only mishaps was i pulled the vacuum hose off and stabbed into my hand with pliers. but other than that the ssqv sounds great!
