Car Tax Increase Date

Does anyone have any information as to when the car tax increase comes into force?

I have my renewal for this month and need to decide on the full year or go for 6 months.

If its not being increased for at least 6 months then I'll go for 6 months then a years ticket at least it would save me a bit of cash.

If you have a website with the info that would be great as I can't see the increase date on the gov site!!

I did look on there but didnt think it was correct as my renewal is £112.75 for 6months and £205 for 12months they have different figures..

not sure if this helps & i dont know the year of your car, you might be lucky & dont have to pay yet...

It's 2005, if I can find out that the increase is not till at least 6 months time then I will get 6 months and then buy a year at the cheaper rate...

The best one I found so far was a write up by what car but they still only said 2009. I'm thinking that they don't really know....

They also said that the tax would increase from 12th march 2008 by £5 but mine is still at the old price!!!
