Aruffell Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Hi all, i'm Andy, 20 from Chatham, Kent. Currently driving a 106 GTI but want to get a scooby now, found a few that have caught my eye, but i think i may have to wait until July as of my age, and i haven't been driving a year yet, but in july i will be and will also have 2 years no claims too and be 21 too. Unless anyone knows of any decent insurer's for scoobies for young people? Either way, looks like a nice place to be. Thanks, Andy

Thanks, Andy Andy, welcome to Kent Scoobies - without putting a downer on your enthusiasm to drive a scooby, check out potential insurance costs BEFORE shelling out on your car, unless you're willing to pay up regardless of the cost lol Try giving Gary Moulson at Keith Michaels a call - 0845 0138231 or 0845 3373380 - tell him you got the no from the SIDC site

My insurance with Admiral ends in July so i know they will try to be competitive and beat any quote as always. Andy
baser999 Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Thats scary! I think 20withascooby pays that sort of money - no doubt he'll be along later in the day with a reply so keep an eye on the thread.

Aruffell Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 £2000 bang on more or less on a Turbo 2000. How does this differ from a WRX? Can i just tell the insurance company this and plead ignorance? Andy

luke_clifton Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 Hello and welcome to SIDC. I pay £151 a month for insurance (22 yr old), but they took into account the 5 years of ownership and license since 2004. Was thinking of trying Gary Moulson, as i want abit cheaper. But was unaware that you had to be 25+
