Scooby Hoo? Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 What a great day it was, sunshine - cars - extreme cars - nice layout - good circuit - And great company had a nice time, booked for the Gumball Euro Rally 2008 A snip at £5000 for 2. Thanks for putting forward the event Granby couldn't have been better, well it might if we had had the new gazebo to hide from the sun in.
Montythegod Posted May 5, 2008 Posted May 5, 2008 Yeh agree, no one quite got burnt like the poor skyline... both the drift & the road car. the road car is ok,, manifold burnt through the aircon pipe and the gas made most of the mess.. once removed he was back out later Had fun on the track, dont suppose anyone videoed my attempt at drifting ???
baser999 Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 . . . .couldn't have been better, well it might if we had had the new gazebo to hide from the sun in. Just seen the thread for Oxon Scoobies day out at Abingdon Air Show - looks the biz when you get a gazebo up (even if its only a roof! ) and everyone parks round it. It gives the club so much more of a professional turn out. . . sorry guys but it would have been good yesterday and after all surely its for the likes of yesterdays show that we were buying one?

Were still waiting for the company to come back to us with the mock up to make sure all the advertising is correct, to be honest i'm starting to think if this company takes any longer then sod them were just get a gazebo from argos or whoever and use that, swifty did bring a gazebo along but i thought the way we were parked up that it wouldn't be necessary (might of stopped me getting burnt) but looks like i was wrong SORRY Edited May 6, 2008 by Granby

The initial thread was posted up on 24 September last year (although the subject of a club gazebo is I understand an annual one) and nearly 8 months later we still don't have it - its a bloody farce! Why bother with that company? Furthermore its a hell of a lot of money. Lets scrap that company altogether and look elsewhere Failing that give everyone their money back - after all not everyone at the clubs contributed to it.

It isn't all down to the company, we started getting the ball rolling again in February this year and it has taken a little while to get our sponsors sorted with exactly what they would like on the gazebo etc, all the details were sent off to the gazebo company so they could get a mock up of the advertising to make sure it's 100% correct but it just seems this last bit is taking longer than expected, Scoots is gonna phone them today to find out what is happening Yes maybe we should of got this sorted sooner but i didn't expect it to take so long to sort out all the little details Edited May 6, 2008 by Granby
mikkers Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 If all of you were attending this show as part of SIDC could they not sort you out with some flags and banners or something? When I turned up I struggled to find you for a little while - all the evo crew had flags up and so did every other group or club. Thanks for dedicating your time to the gazebo Granby and whilst i dont know whats going on it by way of stickers, surely if its SIDC they should put something into it? If its kent scoobies fair enough, but I really felt we should have advertised ourselves a bit more, otherwise a stand is just a car park.

We are almost there now so please bear with it.
Montythegod Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 Tracksnaps have started putting up their pics, take a look in their gallery : http://www.tracksnaps.net/gallery.php
granby Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 We will be getting some sail banners thanks to Phil and we should of had them last week but there has been a slight delay (must be a Kent Scoobies thing )
granby Posted May 6, 2008 Author Posted May 6, 2008 To be fair to Scoots he has kept his end up and worked hard to pull the whole thing together. I agree and didn't say anything otherwise
luke_clifton Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 The sail banners look very good.. really makes the clubs stand out. Maybe after we've got the gazeebo, we could do a similar collection for a couple of Kentscoobies banners along with the SIDC ones?

If you had taken the time to read the thread started by Deano you would have seen where we were with the Gazebo! You should get the facts before ranting about what a farce it is!! You say it's a lot of money, but if we went for a cheap one it will look cheap, and you said we needed to look professional and create the right impression. If you think it's all a farce you're more than welcome to take it over. Sorry for hijacking this thread for any more info on the gazebo see the gazebo thread.
big jay Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 No one wanted to take this on and we've gone this long without one i'm sure we can wait a little longer!!!!!!!!!
mikkers Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 No one wanted to take this on and we've gone this long without one i'm sure we can wait a little longer!!!!!!!!! Anyone willing to take on responsibilities in there own time and UNPAID should be appreciated. Back to the show, did anyone see a black classic get black-flagged at around 3.30, does anyone know what is was for?
Pele Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 A belated thanks to Granby for leading the convoy nice and slow so I could keep up lol and for arranging this - I think he has had enough complaints so give the guy a break , until you organise an event you don't realise the work and effort that is involved with making it work . As for banners, we do have a couple of club banners but they went to a show last year and never came back to me so please if you do have them can you let me know and I'll arrange picking them up. At the end of the day Ian has held his hands up, said he made a mistake and taken all you have said on board, which is more than some people would have done.... And Scoots, you keep at them your doing a great job, it's the other companies that aren't!!
shiralee Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 At the end of the day...Gazebo or No Gazebo...flags or no flags...we are all Kent Scoobies!! A great club with great people...and remember all good things come to those who wait!!
