Wine – Changed regularly with prices we consider reasonable for the quality.

Ale – We are a True Free House i.e. no beer ties, so we are able to stock any Ale or Beer we wish and keep the price right.

Cookhouse – Almost all our menu is freshly cooked (i.e. not bought in or frozen), we cook it ourselves and once again even though the portions are generous, we try to keep our prices reasonable.

We don’t have any amusement machines, darts or pool tables. We don’t serve gentlemen in vests and we don’t allow bad language!

Chicken Piri-Piri

This, our latest recipe is even better than the last! Three generous cuts from a double breast of chicken*, marinated in lime, paprika, cilantro & piri, grilled & served with a sauce made from the marinade & our really amazing house rice & sour cream, (served mild-ish, unless requested otherwise). £11.95

Paella

This old Havana recipe paella is served in a skillet with two handles known as a ‘poele’. This dish is a fabulous yellow concoction of shellfish, vegetables, chorizo, chicken, mushroom, garlic, & rice. It is cooked in the dish it is served in (the crusty bit at the bottom of the pan is considered a delicacy). Accompanied by crusty bread.

Our justly famous and highly demanded house chilli is made with a lot of pride & care. The prime beef with mixed beans, tomato, cumin, cilantro (dry and fresh), Serrano seco chillis (when available), Spanish onions & garlic are slowly cooked in the oven and continuously skimmed to keep it rich and tender. We serve this in a cast iron kettle with melted cheese and house rice accompanied by a pot of soft rolling tortillas, sour cream, lettuce & onion and a stack of corn chips (you may ask your server to have the above ‘spiced up’ if you crave the chilli hit).
