Trying To Eliminate A Slight Hesitation At 2500 Revs

Hello you lot. Hows tricks? Dont know if anybody can help me out here but i seem to have a slight hesitation on the car. It happens mostly in 2nd and 3rd gear around 2500 revs. Ive had to go down the route of possible causes and elimination and so far i've cleaned and eliminated the MAF (apexi filter fitted), cleaned and eliminated the pressure sensor, cleaned and eliminated the boost solenoid which is HKS along with all relevant pipework and cleaned and eliminated a very dirty IDC. I've also changed two of the coil packs on the drivers side. Car is running absolutely superb now but i still have this hesitation. Im thinking it could be the other two coil packs as only changed two and the ones that came out were brittle as f******k so maybe the other two need replacing? Or the IDC? Hope one of you guys can shed some expertise on this? Oh and can anyone get hold of any coilpacks or IDC depending on the problem? :driving: Oh yeah and by the way its a 93 WRX import

agree 100%

you mention the boost solenoid as hks? does it have a boost controller fitted?

Yes its the HKS EVC6. Before you say check the pipework ive done that and as far as i can tell there isn't any leakage. :driving: i like these emoticons . TDI did the set up for me too jolly mate.

Right ive opened up the sensor. Seized it was. Proper nightmare to undo. Used a jack and stilsons to rotate it. The sensor itself is black at the headers and the connector is corroded. Anybody got a spare lambda they wanna get rid of for a price? My MOT is on the 12th and im gonna need one.

Try a new o2 sensor, get the engine up to normal runing temp, if the problem is still there after a good run. then remove your coil packs, remove spark plugs, check gaps on plugs, NGK should be between 0.6mm or 0.7mm. i recommend changing them for a new set if you do not know when they where last changed. dont forget to check gaps on new plugs before fitting them

Cheers guys. much appreciate the advice. Turned out was the lambda. Replaced it and all is well. Even passed the MOT with a full decat after fitting!!! Sparks were clean as anything. Had been changed about 5 months ago so still nice and clean and were gapped correctly. Cheers again fellas. ;)
